Business Bounce Back: 11 Strategies to Revive a Struggling Small Businesses

Data is helpful, but don’t let it paralyze you. Use it to support decisions, not make them for you.

Play Defense and Offense at the Same Time
Protect your current resources while testing new ideas. Think of it like shielding a campfire while adding new fuel.

Revisit Your Customer Journey With Fresh Eyes
Your customers have changed—have you? Walk through their experience and fix any friction points.

Lean Into Your Community, Not Just Your Network
Beyond your business contacts, tap into your local community. Trust and goodwill go further than cash in hard times.

Make Peace With Evolution
Letting go of old methods or products isn't failure—it’s evolution. Sometimes, survival means creating space for something better.

How to Succeed in Business: 7 Tips for Rapid Business Growth

Rapid Business Growth Stock Exchange Monitor

Rapid growth in a small business is a thrilling yet challenging phase that demands strategic foresight and adaptability. As your business expands, it is essential to implement robust strategies that not only support this growth but also ensure its sustainability. From restructuring your business model to forming strategic alliances, each decision plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of your enterprise.

This article delves into practical approaches that can help you manage the complexities of expansion while maintaining operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

"Implement these strategies so your business will be ready to handle the demands of rapid growth while maintaining resilience and adaptability. By prioritizing sustainable practices, you position your company for continued success and long-term prosperity."

1. Adapting Your Business Structure for Sustainable Growth

When your business starts expanding quickly, it’s time to reassess your organizational framework. Transitioning to a Limited Liability Company (LLC) can be a smart move, offering benefits like protecting personal assets and potentially lowering taxes. By choosing to establish your LLC independently or through a formation service like ZenBusiness, you can avoid hefty lawyer fees. This approach not only saves resources but also simplifies the process, allowing you to focus on scaling your business. A well-chosen business structure provides the stability needed to support your company’s growth.

2. Equipping Supervisors for Business Expansion

As businesses expand, managing larger teams requires refined leadership capabilities. Supervisors benefit from targeted training that sharpens communication, delegation, and conflict-resolution skills. Strengthening these abilities equips them to guide teams effectively while promoting a culture of inclusion and creativity. Providing such development opportunities builds confidence in leadership roles and supports sustained organizational growth. Prioritizing these efforts ensures teams operate with cohesion.

3. Leveraging E-commerce for Sustainable Growth

E-commerce platforms simplify sales and inventory management during periods of rapid growth. Real-time tracking tools help maintain ideal stock levels, avoiding shortages or excess inventory. Integrating these systems enhances order fulfillment efficiency, ensuring customers receive timely service. Tailored strategies for inventory management streamline operations and cut expenses, supporting long-term growth. Leveraging these tools fosters smoother workflows and stronger customer relationships.

4. Building Brand Loyalty Through Exclusive Events

Hosting exclusive events or webinars for your most dedicated customers can deepen their connection with your brand. These gatherings provide a unique opportunity for customers to engage more intimately, fostering a sense of community and belonging. Shared experiences enhance emotional bonds, making participants feel more connected to your brand and each other. By offering these unique experiences, you not only reward loyal customers but also create a platform for them to become brand advocates, driving word-of-mouth referrals and repeat business.

5. Find Business Resilience Through Supplier Diversification

Managing sudden growth requires a diverse supplier network to mitigate potential risks. Dependence on a single supplier increases vulnerability to disruptions, while multiple suppliers across regions safeguard operations. This approach enhances flexibility and introduces opportunities for new products and technologies. Engaging varied suppliers can also reduce costs through strategic deals and collaborations, improving margins. Strengthening these efforts with a focused risk management program ensures a more resilient supply chain and tighter network control.

6. Use Financial Analytics for Sustainable Business Growth

During rapid growth, financial analytics play a vital role in preserving cash flow and supporting financial stability. Tools such as real-time dashboards and rolling forecasts offer clarity on cash movement, enabling swift adjustments to changing conditions. Anticipating cash shortages becomes easier, allowing for decisions that align with expansion objectives. Optimizing working capital through better inventory management and renegotiating supplier terms frees up resources for growth. Leveraging these strategies ensures smoother financial operations and greater adaptability.

7. Enhance Your Brand’s Reach with Strategic Partnerships

To navigate rapid growth, forming strategic partnerships with influencers and key allies can significantly boost your brand’s visibility. Collaborations like product seeding, sponsored posts, and affiliate marketing allow you to leverage the genuine connections influencers have with their audiences. This strategy increases your brand’s exposure and fosters meaningful interactions with potential customers, driving higher engagement and conversions. It’s crucial to select influencers whose values and audience demographics align with your target market. Thoughtfully planning and executing these partnerships ensures a successful expansion of your brand’s reach.

Small Business Help: Creative Branding with Creative Marketing

Carmine's Pizzeria Google Review Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza, fDallas, TX

Trying to craft marketing content that gets the attention of the people you want to be your customers can leave you scratching your head. You can seek advice from a friend in the marketing business or perhaps ask a close family member who knows someone who works in the marketing department of a Fortune 100 company who might give you some good suggestions. However, there's nothing like having the people on the front lines of marketing nearby to help with your business communications. Not doing so can lead to lost opportunities, miscommunications, and a really tough learning experience.

This post will help you with at least three things:

  • Identify missed opportunities to influence potential customers.
  • Find out what consumers are searching for Online
  • Leverage simple technologies that influence prospects

At Oevae, we solve the problems between "what you are thinking" about content marketing and "what it will take to make those thoughts a reality." Whether getting more customers, looking more like a real business, or simply changing your approach, we can help you find direction and solutions for growing your business by identifying gaps in your marketing, so you can squeeze more potential out of your brand.

Here are a few creative marketing ideas that might help your Brand become more attractive to the people you want to be your customers. You may have thought about it but don't have the tools or people around you to help you make it happen. Sometimes all you need is a little help.

1.  Identify missed opportunities to influence potential customers.

Email Signatures that include your logo help readers quickly differentiate your email from the previous email. Email Signatures give the recipient a lasting impression of whom they are doing business with, making your contact information easy to find whenever the email recipient wants to connect with you, and it serves as a nest for several ways to access information about your company, other than email.

81% of small businesses rely on email as their primary customer acquisition channel, and 80% for retention.

– Oberlo (Shopify Inc. Multinational E-commerce Company}

Business Cards work harder for you than Near Field Communication (NFC), and here's why. Once you use NFC (holding your phone near the data source to share small payloads of data between, similar to contactless payments popularized by COVID-19) to add a new phone number to your smartphone contacts, it's quickly out-of-site and out-of-mind. Meanwhile, a business card is still working for you. The business card gives you another opportunity to reinforce your brand identity and adds to the number of impressions your logo hits the conscious mind of the recipient. The recipient of the business card must find a resting place, sometimes the trash, but sometimes they are stored in a stack on the desk, in a desk drawer, purse or backpack, or maybe in a wallet.

The best part about using business cards is, every time a person with your business card looks at it, they will remember who or where they received it. The longer it takes someone with your business card to put it out of sight, the longer their exposure to your brand. A similar approach is used by Fortune 100 brands, placing their logo on togo cups and shopping bags because they know the life expectancy of that disposable item will soon resonate with your subconscious mind. For instance, some customers like round business cards because they can double as a beverage coaster.  We've designed other business cards with QR codes to direct prospects for customized experiences.

Google Reviews can dramatically increase the number of times prospects find your company online, especially those with photographs, because they are more personal and relatable, which helps the reader better visualize and understand a reviewer's experience, making it even more valuable and convincing than reviews without photographs. Remember this the next time you ask a customer for a Google Review. It gives potential shoppers a glimpse into the experience you provide. A study by Sterling Sky Inc found that having a photo had a massive impact on how long a review stayed at the top of the reviews list on Google.  In fact, the photograph Pepperoni and Sausage Pizza, from Carmine's Pizzeria in Dallas, TX used at the beginning of this blog post is from a Google Review published in May 2020 and currently has 42,565 views.  That's an average of over 1,100 non-paid views per month (1,182.3) benefiting Carmine's Pizzeria.

2. Find out what consumers are searching for Online

Google Trends is a very effective way to easily see what consumers are on the Internet searching for all around the world, right down to your state, city, demographic, and time of day.  Visualise, discover and compare trending topics and people's search behavior within Google Search, Google News, Google Images, Google Shopping, and YouTube. With this data, you can better craft your promotional headlines, website content and keywords, email marketing Subject lines, text messages, and even the hashtags used in social media posts.

Google Analytics provides countless resources to understand user behavior on your website, where aggregating your most authentic content should be. Two of the most valuable aspects are your ability to improve search engine optimization, groom content, find your target audience, and reinforce positive beliefs about your brand. With a comprehensive understanding of how your people engage with your website in real-time and business, you can deliver better experiences that help you grow your customer base organically.

"Authenticity means being open to stories that normalize the experience customers have with a brand, which is sometimes critical. Create a personal connection and tailor the customer experience. Personalization can go a long way toward building trust."

– Forbes Business Development Council

 3. Leverage simple technologies that influence prospects

URL shorteners with branding capabilities allow you to share branded links as part of automated workflows – with the name of your choosing, you can take total control of your content, and your audience will know they can trust recognizable links. "With trust comes action. Businesses that share custom links see a boost in click-throughs," says Bitly URL Shortener. Every click, tap, and a swipe of your shortened links arms you with the information you need to share more of the content your audience is most excited about – track engagement metrics on your links' organic shares.

Quick Respons codes (QR codes) have been used for over two decades. If you have not found a way to use them, your competitors probably will or have already done so. The QR code is a simple way to leverage technology that redirects prospects from the scan of their mobile device to specific content that continues the message driven by your marketing campaign with quick and convenient access. Consumers scan QR codes and use them as a shopping tool from their mobile phones to navigate product offers.

A study found that the usefulness, feasibility, and acceptability of QR codes are stimuli, which will influence the perceived flow (considered as an organism) of customers positively and affect purchase intention and customer satisfaction in the online shopping context (response). A POS displays with a QR code can be an easy way to get customers to share their experience in a Google review.

Wallpapers (not your great-grandmother's wallpaper from the 1920s) are photographs or videos used as a desktop on your PC, tablet, smartphone, or Chrome browser. The average American spends 7 hours and 4 minutes looking at a screen each day and 2 hours in front of a PC. When a person has your wallpaper on their smartphone or office computer, chances are that your image will catch the eye of their friends and colleagues as well, increasing the coverage.

Whichever wallpaper image you choose must reflect the mission, values, and brand goals. A beautiful image can boost your spirits and create positive associations with your brand. It’s a great way to cultivate a strong emotional bond with your audience.

The Nuts and Bolts for Extreme Branding

These photos are prove that you never know what you'll see (crazy, weird, eye-catching), but the best marketing consultants in the world are increasing the odds of helping you see even more.

Even today as I was returning from the gym, then made a u-turn when my eyes would not let go of this very peculiar shape in the hotel parking lot?  As my curiosity grew, I was confronted with two options that needed an immediate response and call-to-action:

1. I could keep focused, then wonder later "what was that nutty-looking thing I saw in the middle of the lot - resembling a lonesome, wooden Klomp from the Netherlands?

2. Or I could simply make a quick lane change, bust a uey - right quick. Then head across the road and take a closer look to see who was nuts enough to park an oversized peanut right in the hotel parking lot?

Obviously, my second option was the only logical choice.  I'm right here.  It will only take a moment. But of course, check, go check it out. When I get there I'm like a Las Vegas card dealer, shuffling with my thumb to locate the icon for my camera app.

You jumped down here to find out
what extreme branding can do for you.

Pictures of the NutMobile.

The "Nuts" of this post, but not the "Bolts" of Extreme Branding.

There's still something in this post that
you don't want to overlook.

A. You do not know that the photographs of the Planter's Nutmobile (huge mobile peanut with lightly salted fiberglass shell) were taken with a Samsung Galaxy S III, but that does not matter too much.

B. You do not know how the "Bolts" of Extreme Branding work, and that really matters.

Extreme Branding takes control of the normal human impulse. It piques your interest and gives you a reason to learn more.  The "more" means leading more consumers to your business.  Which could mean more money in your bank account and feeling good about your business marketing decisions (bolts).

Hidden in the magnitude you will find a huge peanut parked in the hotel parking lot - made possible with a really smart marketing decision.

Will I buy more Planter's Peanuts?  Not sure yet, but the huge peanut is "planted" in my mind for a while - I'll remember when I get to the store.

I can tell you that parents will be hearing their kids talking about Mr. Peanut this Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year.  Or you may want to pick up some Planter's peanuts for 1 of 300+ NFL games, because you may be drinking beer, and kids have been known to throw nuts into the fireplace one time.
